SINNOGENES participated physically in BRIDGE GA 2026, that took place on the 23 and 24 of April in Brussels. During those two days we had the chance to disseminate the project objectives,  and to listen to some good ideas for the future of BRIDGE but also more from the projects participating in the Working Groups.

A dynamic two-day event brought together leading voices from the European energy sector, featuring high-level updates from the European Commission and CINEA. The programme included in-depth sessions across the four BRIDGE Working Groups—Data Management, Business Models, Consumer & Citizen Engagement, and Regulation—offering a comprehensive view of current developments and future priorities.

Discussions focused on critical themes shaping the energy transition, including grid flexibility, smart districts, digitalised energy systems, artificial intelligence integration, cybersecurity, and emerging investment pathways for clean energy. Networking played a central role, fostering meaningful exchanges and a deeper understanding of the sector’s evolving landscape.

Key Takeaways

Europe is steadily progressing toward energy sovereignty, supported by a wide range of innovative projects. However, many initiatives are tackling similar challenges, resulting in a rich yet fragmented ecosystem. To maximise impact, participants highlighted the need for stronger coordination, clearer organisation, and greater alignment across projects.

Engagement Indicators: Key Findings

Significant progress has been made in understanding and measuring social acceptance. Projects have actively mapped and compared different approaches, while increasingly adopting shared methodologies and common indicators. Collaboration across initiatives has strengthened, enhancing knowledge exchange and collective learning.

Importantly, there is a growing integration of qualitative and quantitative analysis methods, providing more robust insights. These efforts are laying the groundwork for future interdisciplinary research on systemic acceptance, reinforcing the importance of citizen and stakeholder engagement in Europe’s energy transition.

SINNOGENES will continue its active participation in all BRIDGE Working Groups and foster its contribution as the project progress.
